Nicolas Pernot

Nicolas Pernot is a French photographer, documentary filmmaker and lecturer who has spent more than ten years travelling through Central Asia and the Caucasus, living for extended periods in Tajikistan, on the shores of Lake Baikal, and in Georgia since 2020. His work offers a thoughtful, nuanced look at societies shaped by the former Soviet world, their cultural heritage and contemporary balance, and each project yields a documentary film and a photography book presented on tour in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Canada as part of the Les Grands Explorateurs series.
