Sigh

Sigh is a Japanese extreme metal band formed in Tokyo in 1990 by multi-instrumentalist Mirai Kawashima. Pioneers of Japanese black metal with their debut Scorn Defeat (1994), they have evolved through progressive, symphonic, and avant-garde phases across releases on labels including Cacophonous Records, Century Media, and Season of Mist, culminating in the 2022 album Shiki, sung in Japanese with traditional instrumentation. They have performed at Hellfest, Roadburn, and Metal Magic Festival.
