Codeine

American band formed in New York in 1989 by Stephen Immerwahr, John Engle and Chris Brokaw. Their 1990 debut 'Frigid Stars LP' made them pioneers of slowcore, with slow, minimalist songs and melancholic lyrics that inspired acts like Low and Duster. They reunited in 2012 and returned to the stage in 2023.
