Shanipiap

Shanipiap (Geneviève McKenzie-Sioui) is an Innu artist from Matimekush (near Schefferville), now based in Wendake, who has written and performed songs in the Innu language since the late 1970s. She released her debut album 'La Lune du Labrador' in 1999, founded Productions Shanipiap, and created the children's TV series 'Les Découvertes de Shanipiap' for APTN and TFO. She is also a storyteller, host, television producer and author.
